Nerd News…Week 14
I was really straining for content for Nerd News this week.
These posts used to appear on Sunday’s, then Monday’s, then last week Wednesday and now here we are on a Friday. UGH! Trust me, it’s not that I not being a nerd, it’s just that all those nerdy things I do in the course of a week just sort of blend into this “nerd stew” that floats around in my brain and then when “forced” to write something, I can’t distinguish between one thing or another…
Let’s just run through some categories…maybe that’ll jog the old memory gland…
TV – “Lost” was a rerun (or as they called it – a special episode, I call it clip show) this week. Everything else is still sitting in the DVR, taunting me…Red Wings & Tigers have pulled my attention away from normal viewing.
COMICS – I did get a shipment this week and was able to catch up on a few stories. I am loving the new ”Daredevil” arch with the “Return of the Kingpin“. Also, still really digging the ”Green Lantern” titles leading up to “Blackest Night“ AND the “New Krypton” storyline running through all the “Superman” titles.
MOVIES – I DVR’ed “Zombie Strippers” but with the in-laws in town this weekend, I will need to delete that…have to re-catch it on Spike.  Other than that, haven’t seen a thing. I blame Lil’ Baird.
GAMES – didn’t play ANYTHING this week. I did pick-up “Sam & Max Season One” out of the Target bargain bin (just $2.48), just haven’t installed…I also (shame) watched a 20 minute demo of “Starcraft 2“. I’m a nerd!
STAR WARS – I completely rearranged my Star Wars basement this last weekend. Need to build some more shelves/storage to get the remaining parts of my collection up and out in the open. I’ll look to have some photos of it soon.
Also – check this out…feel the power of the dark side every morning and relive the scene where Anakin fries into a charcoal briquette with the Darth Vader toaster!
So that’s it this week.

Need to find a way to upgrade my rig this summer to run StarCraft 2. The original StarCraft chewed a great big hole in my freetime for years. Sequel looks amazing. Looking forward to beating down some zerglings and zealots with my Terran army once again!
i hear ya brother…i’m thinking about going old school and breaking out the original for old times sake…I at least know I could run it on this machine…
I played Sam&Max – both seasons. If you like the characters, you will love the game. Fair warning – there are a ton of easter eggs and side gags – don’t get too caught up in the plot or you might miss something.
Thanks dude…I remember the original, along with some of the other early LucasArts games, they were hilarious!
