I have removed Westborn, Holiday and Plum.  While these are great places and all three have great meat counters, they have yet to feature any specials on bacon.  I will continue to check every week and if they do offer something, I’ll tell you about it.

This has been a good week to have a bacon based blog!  There has been a stream of great new products floating around the interwebs.  Like this for example…for those fashionable women who like to take there breakfast meats with them throughout the day.

Lance Armstrong – your yellow little bracelets got nothing on this! LIVESTRONG – HA!  EAT BACON!!!

Very fun and whimsical, but personally I couldn’t dream of wearing or buying for Better Half.  If you had to look at a piece of bacon across your wrist everyday, I dare say I would crave a lot more bacon thus making me fatter, eventually choking my arteries and dying much earlier than I plan to (I’m gonna be at least 97! Take that!).  That is just tempation at it’s finest right there!

Seriously, how can you not love / check out Nerd Approved everyday?!? I mean, first this week was the Bacon Skateboards…now some GREAT bacon stickers. Allow me to feature the same one they did…it (coff, coff) caught my eye…KA-POW!!

Yeah!!  Take that Chicken!!

It was closer than I thought it’d be, but when you get this far in the tournament, you are going up against some strong competition.

Bacon beat Chicken 60% – 40%.

Not quite a blow out, but still a definitive win for my (dare I say our) favorite meat!

Voting is going on NOW for the meat who will face Bacon in the Finals – Steak or Crab.  Right now, Steak has a pretty commanding lead, making my prediction look pretty silly…but there is still time for crab to make a come back and knock out the #1 seeded Steak.

I heard about this yesterday on one of my favorite blogs – “Pop Candy” by Whitney Matheson at USA Today.  If you are not reading this blog everyday, then you should!

Ben & Jerry’s is running a contest where you get to develop your own ice cream combination.  Here’s mine:

I have been pretty good lately avoiding the burger chains around work (we have Wendy’s, McDonald’s and BK surrounding my office).  After watching this, looks like I’ll be having a salad for lunch…

I mean really???  REALLY???

Things like this fascinate me.  First, there is just the whole disgusting grease thing.  It is pretty gross.  Second though is the fact that this guys was sitting around (probably drinkin’) and had the idea to not only see how much grease was in the burgers, but then to paint with them, but not just paint but do it on a giant canvas and recreate the “Mona Lisa”. 

Better Half and I have a phrase for when we see something like this (or really bad advertising) and that’s “Fly on the Wall”.  Oh to be a fly on the wall and hear the conversations that went into developing this idea and then taking it to conclusion.  So in future posts, when you see “Fly on the Wall” you’ll know what I mean…

It was more of a “jock” week for me (if by jock I mean watching sporting events) !  Everything was pretty much centered around MSU, the Final Four and Tiger’s Opening Day.  I did way more drinkin’ than anything too nerdy.

I didn’t watch any cartoons.

I didn’t get any comic books and I’m caught up with the ones I had.

Sudoku playing has been greatly reduced now that the Detroit Free Press only comes to the house three times a week.

I have been staying current with “Bones“, “Lost“, “Smallville” and “Reaper“. There is a new show on Adult Swim called “The Mighty Boosh” that I am trying to get into.  Also, I have really become a fan of “1,000 Ways to Die” on Spike. Saw the first episode of “Parks and Recreation“…

I did get some Star Wars eggs and socks from the Easter Bunny…so that was cool.

On the gaming front, I mentioned that I was playing a game called “Farm Frenzy, Pizza Party” last week.  It reminded me of something so I went back and played the previous edition of the game “Farm Frenzy 2” and I remembered exactly why I liked it so much…

Your pigs provide pork (1) which you take to the butcher (2) which gives you pork slices (3).  The cut pork you need to take to the smoker (4) where you get your cured pork (5).  Finally that cured pork goes to the processor (6) and out comes PACKAGED BACON (7)!!!  Seriously!!!  AWESOME!!!
