I’m an Idiot…Anniversary Edition

So, my anniversary was this last Friday. I remembered it, thank you…that’s not why I’m an idiot…

It was the Fruit/Flower gift year.  I got her a great rose & lily bouquet…that’s not why I’m an idiot…

I gave her the cards I got for her at dinner.  The first one she opened was a fart card…believe it or not, that’s not why I’m an idiot (We love fart cards in our house and try to find them for every occasion)…

No, it was when she opened the second card.  I thought it was cute and actually true to life around here.  She chuckled and said that it was the SAME CARD I GOT HER LAST YEAR.  WHAT?!?  No way I said.  Yeah, replied Better Half, I keep them and I have it back in my office.  She then proceeded to go back and bring up last year’s card…

But wait….notice the “heartfelt” inscription in each.  First this year…

Made it about me being stupid by crossing off the we and each other, cute little joke at the bottom with smily face…

Now 2008…

Well at least I took the time to write it all out as opposed to just crossing things off.  Seriously Baird – same freakin’ joke?!?  You will also notice the same smiley face to denote a light hearted joke.

I mean come on…guys do you even remember what you had for dinner last night, let alone that you bought this card before (a year ago!). I see a card, it made me laugh a bit, the “story” hit home and I thought this is perfect.  It’s just that I thought it was perfect TWO different times.

So now…she’ll get this card EVERY YEAR!  I’m just going to go get a bunch in bulk.  It’s just easier.
