Sadly, another bacon related crime.  This from WPBF 25 in West Palm Beach, FL.

STUART, Fla. — Police said a woman who works at a Stuart restaurant tried to steal bacon from her employer.

Luann McKinnley, 52, was arrested Thursday on a theft charge after a co-worker at Perkins told the manager that she stuffed a 3-pound bag of bacon in her personal bag, police said. The bacon was valued at $11.16. Police said they also found illegal drugs in her possession. She was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

So there you go…in her defense, Perkins does have tasty bacon.

So…I’m sick.  I’m talking physically, not mentally  

Lil’ Baird brought a cold home about two weeks ago.  Better Half and Lil’ got better over the first weekend.  I on the other hand had this cold turn into an infection and have been coughing and hacking like a 80 year old man.

After the first seven days I finally caved and went in to the Minute Clinic at the CVS around the corner from my house.  The nurse practitioner made the diagnosis, I got my script and home I went.

That is the name of this photo gallery on “The Huffington Post”. 

A few of the items, the lip balm and bacon gun for example, we have already featured on TDB.  A couple, like the bacon bra, have been floating around the interwebs for a while so it didn’t make sense for me to cover.  There was even one image that was brand new to me…so you “learn” something every day.

I think they actually got a little lazy with the construction of the list.  Surely they could have uncovered a few other unique bacon inventions / products as opposed to just adding bacon cupcakes and martinis. Both of these are a nice take on some “traditional” dish and provide another way to enjoy the taste of bacon as an ingredient.  Adding them to a list of 13 things that shouldn’t have been made…questionable.  If were going to feature a food item why not the bacon explosion, due to it’s sheer over the top nature?  That seems to make more sense on a list that includes the bacon bra.

Now Bacon Hitler…no agrument there, he should be on the list!

Some say why, I say why wouldn’t you?!?

This is Tom Coghill, owner of a little placed called Iron Barley in South St. Louis. That tray he is holding is FILLED with bacon.  All those people behind him were working this weekend on putting together the worlds longest BLT sandwich!

The previous record was 169 feet.  Tom and his crew of 90 volunteers built their sandwich to a new record length of 179 feet, two inches!!!  In all they used 500 pounds of bacon, 1,280 pounds of tomatoes, 100 heads of lettuce and 48 gallons of mayo.

See this woman?  She is Christina Hendricks.  She plays Joan Holloway on “Mad Men“.  She is BEAUTIFUL!  I mean look at her…

Who has got two thumbs and has it bad for this gal?  THIS GUY RIGHT HERE!

Oh, and she digs choco-bacon!

CH: And two kinds of pork in one soup? Bring it on. I just learned what guanciale is, when I was in New Orleans. It’s the pig jowl. I went to this butcher there, and I came home with lots of sausages: a big andouille and a blood sausage.

ESQ: You know your pork.

CH: I can see it in Esquire — “I know my pork!” Oh, my gosh, you’ve had chocolate-covered bacon, right? It’s so perfect.

Oh man…this looks good…I could see myself sitting down and dipping tortilla chips in this until every bite was gone (cause I am a disgusting man).

The Wisconsin State Fair also getting in on the chocolate covered bacon fair food craze.  Here’s the video to prove it:

TDB’s official list of choco-bacon has included the Florida State Fair, San Diego County Fair and Mississippi Valley Fair (Davenport, IA).  I sure there is more out there, but this is what I have been able to confirm through the interwebs!

I wonder if the Michigan State Fair will join the choco-bacon club??  If so, I actually might have to go this year.
