Allow me to introduce you to this lovely young lady…

Her name is Tiffany.  I met her last night at Rosie O’Grady’s.  Isn’t she cute?!

Why is she here?  Because she loves bacon and was proud to tell me so. Indeed everything is better, including a night at the bar, with bacon! 

She also had what I thought was the best quote of the evening…

Sometimes you got to have out of town bacon.  But out of country bacon is the best.  Jamaican bacon, yum!

I’ll let each of you decipher that quote for yourselves.  Was bacon all she was talking about?!? Hmmmmm. Anywho, I just thought it was brilliant.

To which I said…

Jamaican me bacon mon

Because I’m in marketing and am creative like that.  Come on, you know that’s clever…

Yes people, this is what a night out with me is like these days. 

But wait Michael, how do we even know that you actually went out last night?  Well, look closely…

KA-POW!  There’s that bald head.  Look at me going all CSI with this picture.

How did the time get away from me???  Here we are, three months into 2010, and “The Daily Bacon” has yet to officially “hold” a BACON SUNDAY?!? The shame, the horror…

So here we go…

BACON SUNDAY VII – BACON HEAVEN!!!

For those new to “TDB”, allow me a minute to explain just what BACON SUNDAY is…

BACON SUNDAY is a day where you are strongly encouraged to enjoy a good old BIG breakfast! It could be a get together with friends, family or even just a quiet morning at a greasy spoon with your newspaper.  I am a HUGE proponent of a great breakfast.  Some of my favorite memories are around big ole breakfasts.

For those veggie friends of mine, or just those who don’t dig on swine, BACON SUNDAY doesn’t have to include pig…just knowing that you are willing to join in the spirit of the “event” is plenty cool with me!

SO MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

• From: Whenever you wake up til 2 pm

• With Who: Anyone you’d like to get together with.

In anticipation of St. Patrick’s Day, Bobby Flay was on “The Early Show” this morning with his spin on traditional corned beef and cabbage. Of note, his liberal use of bacon!

In fact his strategy of cooking the corned beef directly in bacon fat is something I think I am going to be trying when I cook up my next filet at the house…I’ll let you know how that works out.

Anywho, back to Bobby’s recipe. I was going to post but I fear the wrath of CBS Corporation so instead here is the video (which they allow to be embedded) and you’ll have to click on through for the recipes.

Braise the Lord! Toby Elles reckons his life was saved by one Almighty fry-up.

The bank cashier, 22, was woken by smoke after he dozed off while cooking bacon.

And when he gazed in the scorched pan he was stunned to see an image of Jesus.

Toby, of Salford, said: “I’d had a few beers and woke to find the room filled with smoke.

“Then I saw the face. It’s a miracle – like someone up there was looking after me.”

Really???……
