So I got home late tonight (more on the reason why tomorrow), cranked up the old DVR and started watching “Top Chef“.  About half way through, right when the cheftestants are shopping for their Elimination challenge, is when I see this logo on Andrea’s t-shirt…

Holy Crud!!!  I know that logo!!!  It’s from the blog Skulls and Bacon, one of the very first blogs that shared links with me.

I’m so happy for them (her).  Big ups!

I found a new site today – SmittenKitchen (come on, you know that is a great name).  What a fantastic food site.  Beautifully designed, terrific photographs and from what I can read some great recipes like…

Summer Succotash with Bacon.  Look at how good that is. Don’t you just want to dig right on?

Family outing at the Detroit Zoo yesterday.  All that chasin’ Lil’ Baird got me pretty hungry…

Now that’s what I am talking about.  A little smoked turkey, a great tomato from our garden, some crispy romaine and six slices of thick cut bacon from the butcher.  Drop it all in a fresh French roll, grab a cold beer and my friends you got lunch!

It’s been a long week!  I’ve been so busy that I had no chance to read any of my daily nerd blogs unitil this morning.  I’m so glad I took the time to catch up or I would have missed this…
