What I Missed While Out Sick…
were my tickets to the…
Yup, who’s got two thumbs and NOT going to Des Moines? THIS GUY!
From the “Des Moines Register“:
Pork is still king in Iowa.
Bacon was the most sizzling ticket in Des Moines on Friday, as 1,300 spots at the fourth annual Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival on Feb. 26 sold out in less than 30 minutes – on the same day tickets went on sale for country music superstar Kenny Chesney’s upcoming concert at Wells Fargo Arena.
“It’s a good day for us, but I’m sure some people are going to be upset,” festival co-founder Brooks Reynolds said.
…
Organizers more than doubled the number of tickets available for this year’s festival, and dropped the maximum number of tickets a person could buy from eight to two. Still, four minutes after tickets went on sale at noon Friday, “sold out” alerts greeted bacon fans online.
That’s what I get for underestimating ticket sales. I figured I’d have the weekend to talk Better Half in letting me go and pick up some tickets on Monday. Yeah, that didn’t happen.
So we’ll wait until the 5th annual…if anyone else is going, wanna be our “official” coorespondent?
