Dinner with the Family at CPK…
Just a very quick story from tonight…
Lil’ Baird (who is officially 2 1/2 now) comes out of “school” today and proclaims she wants to go to a restaurant.
Fine by me.
We decided to go to California Pizza Kitchen. I just had a hankerin’. We get there and I figured I’d go with the Meat Cravers pizza:
A combination of sweet Italian sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, Capicola ham, julienne salami, Mozzarella cheese and our tomato sauce.
“Could I get that pizza with regular bacon instead of Canadian bacon?” I ask.
“You mean real bacon?” countered the waitress.
Yes, yes indeed! I shall have real bacon.
That is my bacon story for today. More great bacon news tomorrow, same bat time, same bat channel.

Get a Whiff of BaconAir…
For those of you who have stuck around here for a while, you know of my love / not so much relationship with the folks at JD’s., makers of Bacon Salt, Baconnaise, MMMvelopes, and most recently bacon cola with Jones.
One one hand, I truly appreciate their inventiveness.
On the other, none of their products include any bacon (at all) and all their stuff kinda taste like yuck.
Well, they are at it again. This time with the creation of BaconAir.
Their “creation” story is pretty good, here’s an excerpt:
Hungry for bacon but don’t want the calories? Try BaconAir! Competing in a sporting event or spelling bee? Try BaconAir! Vacuuming the house? Try BaconAir! Taking a test? Try BaconAir! Driving a race car or semi-truck? Try BaconAir. If you want to run faster, jump higher, look and feel more attractive or memorize long sequences of numbers – try BaconAir!
Wanna see the rest? Pop over and read it. While you are there, if you are so moved, you can get your name on the waiting list. Retail is $8.99.

BTV – Wake N’ Bacon on Shark Tank…
Last week when the family was in California, I found myself clicking through the channels and found “Shark Tank” on ABC. I was hooked! Premise of the show, if you haven’t seen it, has entrepreneurs going in front of a panel of five individuals who after hearing their pitch either fight against each other to take equity and/or fund the entrepreneur or leave them hanging. It really was surprisingly compelling TV.
Anywho, I set the DVR and low and behold I had a new episode wanting for me yesterday. To my surprise one of the people facing the Sharks was the creator of the Wake N’ Bacon. Over two years ago we were clued into this marvelous invention and now here was the man who developed this incredible product on my TV asking for money to make production a reality. Here’s a clip:
I’m not going to give anything away nor can I do the segment justice with a review so here is the link to watch the entire episode on ABC.com.

Um…Guess that Denny’s Post was Pretty Popular…
What you are looking at is a graph of TDB daily site traffic. You can see that after I posted about Denny’s “Baconalia” yesterday, my site visits essentially doubled. That would have easily made yesterday the highest trafficked day on my little corner of the googleverse.
But then came today.
Um, wow!
Guess there are a lot of people into Denny’s…oh, and bacon.
So hi to all you folks just finding us, thanks for stopping by, don’t be a stranger.

WTH Denny’s…Baconalia?!?
So yesterday while on the road, the family decided to stop and get breakfast at Denny’s. I am and will remain a big fan of the “make your own slam”.
Anywho, we walk in and I’m greeted by this:
WHAT??? How did I not know about this “Baconalia“? I missed it, all the FoTDB* missed it, no Google alerts, no Facebook posts…WTH!!!
This “Celebration of Bacon” includes seven new menu items, featured here (a little blurry) on this table card: [Read more →]
