“Beggin’ Strips for People”…
That headline comes straight out of this article from the Memphis Commercial Appeal:
Think profits for Memphis-based Monogram Food Solutions, which is due to launch its bacon jerky in Walmart stores this week.
“It’s our first item to go national and be available in all the Walmart stores, so it’s a big step,” said president and chief operating officer Wes Jackson, 50, former executive with Sara Lee and Jimmy Dean Foods.
“We hope to be in 10,000 stores by the first of next year,” added chairman and CEO Karl Schledwitz, 60, lawyer and real estate developer and investor.
10,000 stores! Bring me some of that bacon jerky! Kickin’ it in the office, those 2:30 pm munchies hit and I can now reach for yummy, yummy bacon straight out of my desk drawer. SCORE!
It will be sold as Trail’s Best Bacon Jerky in Walmart, Wild Bill’s in convenience stores and other outlets in the Northeast and Bass Pro Shops’ Uncle Buck’s label, primarily in the South.
