Bacon Pic of the Day (Part 2) – Draw Me Some Bacon…

Picking up from yesterday…

So having been hit up by my (9 year old) nephew Hunter to purchase one of his drawings, immediately upon entering my sister’s house, I decide to up the ante.

“Hunter, I want you to draw me some bacon.  I want three slices on a baking sheet.  I will only pay you if I like the drawing.  This is creative on spec.  It’s how I work with new designers.  So do a good job and I’ll think about buying it.”

“Uncle Mike, that’s just mean.” says my sister.

“It’s real world!  The kid’s got to learn. Hunter, you want my business you have to earn it!” I reply.

Undeterred, Hunter grabbed his drawing kit and got to work.  The next morning when we stopped back to the house to get changed for graduation, there was a picture waiting for me…

I paid him his $2.00.

And then I got to thinking….
