While this post has NOTHING to do with tasty strips of pork, it is still of great significance to moi.

You see, back the my day, I was a MEAN Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon player.  I knew my Bacon forwards and back. Many an afternoon/evening was wasted spent destroying my friends and colleagues with my knowledge of Mr. Footloose’s filmography.

Now the Google has gone and done what some claimed impossible.  They’ve created a search algorithm that now instantly calculates any actor’s “Bacon Number”.

Just type their name followed by bacon number and BAM! Bacon number!

• Andy Warhol – bacon number of 2 (I know, surprised me too)
• Henry Winkler – bacon number of 1 (whaaaaaaat?!?)
• Zsa Zsa Gabor – bacon number of 2 (this is crazy!)

and so on, and so on, and so on.

Can Google be stumped?!?  YOU BET IT CAN!

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Michael Baird’s (that’s me) Bacon Number!

Michael Baird had a non-speaking role in “Party of Five” in a scene with Scott Wolf (true story!)
Scott Wolf appeared with Jeff Bridges in “White Squall”
Jeff Bridges appeared with Kevin Bacon in “R.I.P.D.”

That’s a bacon number of 3!  KA-POW!!!
