It’s been a while since I went trollin’ on Etsy for fine, hand crafted, bacon related products. So long that when I popped “bacon” in the search, I was overwhelmed with new goodness…upon this discovery I quickly assessed that this would become “Etsy Week“. It works out well thematically as well as “Maker Faire” is back into town this weekend at The Henry Ford.
So let’s explore the creative world of handmade baconcraft! We start with these scrumptious wonders:
These are great looking cookies. Sure they may be a little expensive ($15 for 1/2 dozen), but they’re big (7″ x 2″) and made with love Alas, there is no real bacon in these tasty treats, but I am fairly confident you’d still get quite a smile out of the bacon lover in your family if you presented them with a box of these!
Pick up a box today!
Oh, they also make these:
Bacon – check, Star Wars – check, my new favorite bakery – quite possibly

As we continue with “catching up” week, this little number comes from FoTDB Courtney (SHOUT OUT):There are a host of bacon scarfs out there (yes, really) but this is a REALLY good one AND it’s not a one off from those crazy crafters over at Etsy, but a mass produced piece of loveliness from the Wireless catalog.
Sadly, it’s sold out right now but keep checking back. Just $19.95…

I love Etsy! Seriously! You love something and have an idea for a product – BAM – you’ve got a store front and are out there makin’ it happen.
Where else could you find something as simple and as wonderful as these?
Yes, those are bacon magnets. Created by DesignDude, they come in four different “sizes” and help pork up any fridge.
Four “slices” in a package, $4.99 per.
Make it so!

It’s starting to get chilly here in Michigan, time to break out the cold weather gear.
Scarfs and gloves go together like bacon and eggs, so it’s only fitting that the world should now have a bacon & eggs scarf and glove combo!
Practical, stylish and oh so yummy looking! You even get your choice of three colors
(Scarf and gloves sold separately for $15 / $8.25 respectfully)

Every day since I started this site I wake up and wonder…will today be the day that the river of bacon content runs dry?
And then I find something like this which only confirms that when it comes to running a bacon blog, I’m gonna be in business for a while!
It’s the Mona Lisa…if she was made of bacon.
Again, the Mona Lisa made of bacon.
AND IT’S A PRINT THAT IS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE RIGHT NOW!!!
This from the mgenomgeno’s shop on Esty.
From TITLE: “Mona Bacon”
MEDIUM: Hi quality, Archival Print
SIZE: 11×14″ ready to frame
Although her expression is often described as enigmatic, the original Mona Lisa was a mere icon before she met bacon.
If you’re an art lover (or simply lover of anything beautiful) and a food lover (or simply a lover of anything tasty)then bacon art is inevitable. It will solve all your problems and satisfy your aesthetic appetite!
Larger sizes of this image are available on request.
Prints are SHIPPED USPS international PRIORITY (2/3 day delivery in US)
I love this country!

The Henry Ford pulled off a winner this weekend with Maker Faire setting up shop in the museum parking lot. If for nothing else, the life size mousetrap demonstration was worth admission for me, but I digress…
I’m walking through the craft tent and what catches my eye?
BACON! Handmade by Burnt Desserts right here in Michigan.
While I was standing there admiring the rest of her work a Maker Faire representative comes up to the booth and gives her the editor’s choice Blue Ribbon. I looked over and said “It was for the bacon wasn’t it?”
“It was completely because of the bacon” she replied.
So bacon wins the day once again!
Unfortunately her Etsy shop is closed for the moment as she’s out doing the summer art fair circuit, but you can sign up for email alerts so when the store reopens you can go and get yourself some blue ribbon bacon.

I hadn’t been on Etsy for a while and thought I’d pop-in, drop “bacon ” in the search and see what popped up.
The Word Shop calls this print “Bacon Anatomy of Perfection”. I call it awesome and suddenly feel compelled to hang this in my kitchen. This 8″ x 10″ print is part of their “For the Love of Bacon” series and can be yours for just $12.95.
Check out their store for a lot of other great images (along with some more fun bacon ones).

When I was growing up, my mom really took to cross stitching. If you are unaware of the art of cross-stitch, it’s sort of needlepoint’s equivalent of 16-bit paint-by-numbers.
We’d go to Frank’s Nursery & Crafts (no longer in business) and she’d go through all the patten books and pick up the appropriate coded colors of thread. I can honestly say that there never was a pattern in any of those books as cool as this one…
Mom, break out the kit..I got something for you!
Thanks to Dixie Champoux for boxing this art for us to enjoy.
