So I was sitting on the couch, watching “Top Chef” on the DVR and poppin’ Milk Duds when I remembered I had to get my behind on the computer and drop some bacon knowledge tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you…

The Triple Threat at Slows Bar-B-Q in Detroit.

A pile of pulled pork and bacon covered by a slab of ham, all on Texas toast. I polished this beauty off with about 1/4 bottle of their sweet sauce and a side of cole slaw.  Proud member of the clean plate club today!

Now that’s Lunch!

How do you not stop in your tracks, turn immediately right and enter this restaurant??

If you can’t read it, allow me to spell things out for you:

1. The Sampler – strips of bacon from farms in three different states, bacon marmalade on cheddar biscuit

2. The Entree – choice from 4 bacon favorites – blt, mac & cheese, pizza, grilled cheese

3. The Bacon Brownie – served warm with side of Jack Daniels whipped cream.

I WOULD NOT LEAVE THE RESTAURANT!

Welcome back to “Fast Food Friday“!  It’s been awhile…

For the newbies, this feature started with me comparing bacon and bacon burgers at various fast food chains surrounding my home and former office.  We were on a roll there for a while but then I ran out of fast food places and “Fast Food Friday’s“ went dormant.

Well bust out the tray liners cause I’m back baby! But this week, we’re checking out a salad.  A Salad???  Let me explain…

In the spirit of full exposure - a few weeks back I get this mysterious email saying that this person had a $10 Wendy’s gift card for me if I was willing to try one of their new premium salads.  Not knowing if this was a scam or not I sent the email back.  Fast forward a week and BAM, gift card in the mail!  SWEET!!!

Okay.

I love bacon, this is true. You enjoy bacon, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this. I have defended the bacon movement from those who have proclaimed that bacon’s light is waining. But this just might be my “jump the shark moment”.
