Bacon Pics of the Day – Charles Edition!
Long time “brotha’ from anotha’ motha’ “ and FoTDB Charles (SHOUT OUT!) has been nothing but consistent in his submission of bacon related photos over the years. So today I thought I’d show him some love here on the interwebs for his continued contributions…
Keep sendin’ them Charlie!

Bringin’ Up A Bacon Baby – Breakfast with Daddy!
Coming up on Lil’s 3rd birthday, so I’m starting to be comfortable with her having a little bacon, but I’m afraid bacon may already have her in it’s clutches…
A few weeks ago, we were at breakfast with friends and Lil’ reaches over and just takes the bacon of my plate and starts chewing…what?!? You take MY bacon?
Then we have family over for breakfast last week and there go her little hands into the serving plate and up with slices.
And now today…we’ll she’s wavin’ it all around, gnawin’ on it like some type of animal…
That’s my girl! ;-)

Happy Bacon Day!
Today is International Bacon Day! I’ve already “celebrated” with one of my favorite breakfasts at Alex’s in Berkley…

Scramble (bacon, sausage, ham, onion, green pepper, hash browns, cheese) no egg, side of pancakes and side of toast!
Thinking tonight will be a bacon cheeseburger and cold beverage at Bagger Dave’s.
How are you celebrating?

Better with Bacon – Bacon Wrapped Eggs…
Those of you who have followed this blog for a while know that I don’t dig on eggs, but even I have to admit that this look pretty darn good and an incredibly easy thing to put together. Don’t have any ideas for this Sunday’s family breakfast? Why not give these a try this weekend and let me know what you think!
In the words of Lil’ Baird – “Bon Appétit, you may eat!”

Always Make Sure you Read the Whole Article…
because you never know what you are going to find.
Like today for example…
I get my daily alerts from the Google Machine and notice an article from Marcus Samuelsson’s blog where he explains the different cuts of bacon. It’s a good read as he talks through side, pancetta, slab, back, nitrate free…then I see something that makes me stop in my tracks:
Cooking with bacon can be a great way to add a little bit of flavor to a dish. You can chop some side bacon or pancetta and use it to enhance your favorite pasta, or in a banana bread or leave the strips whole and wrap them around fruits for a great appetizer like tapas or “Devils on horseback” or wrapped around oysters to make “Angels on horseback.”
Wait…back up…banana bread? Are…….you……kidding me?

Bacon Pic of the Day – Half Empty or Half Full?
Now a pessimist would look at that and say:
“Just one slice left. Boo Hoo”
The optimist would realize he just had a great pancake breakfast, which included three of four slices of crispy goodness already, and now can end his meal with the delicious taste of bacon!
I am that optimist! KA-POW!
Make it a great day.
