As friends of TDB you may have come to over these last few years that I have a “thing” for carbonite.  Most specifically, Han Solo in carbonite.

The ONLY thing that I truly covet is a life sized Han Solo in carbonite.

While my dream has still yet to be realized, I have amassed quite a collection of substantially smaller versions, many of which have been highlighted on these electronic pages.

But now I have found quite possibly the SECOND greatest carbonite related product, this thanks to Lucasfilm and Disney World as part of their Star Wars weekends at Hollywood Studios…

Guests at Star Wars Weekends this year will be given the opportunity to step into a “Carbon Freezing Chamber,” located near The American Idol Experience in the theme park, and have their faces 3-D scanned using multiple cameras to create a 8-inch figurine depicting themselves frozen in carbonite. It also comes with a light-up wristband.

What, what, what?!?

First thing I felt? Excitement – This is the coolest thing ever!

Second thing? Regret – Why did we book our Disney vacation when we did?

Third? Bargaining – How could I POSSIBLY get back down to Florida next weekend?

Fourth? Acceptance – I’m never going to have this.

AURGH!!!!!!

So, to any of you will either live near the happiest place on earth or are planning on already attending the family nerdfest that is Star Wars weekend…don’t be like me and miss out!  Save those pennies (it costs $99.95) and go get yourself frozen!

I am knee deep in bacon related stuff to bring to all of you, my 10′s of fans, but after seeing this today I pushed it all aside so I could share what  is the happiest thing I have seen in a while…

April Fool’s Day is no fun on a Sunday.  No social chatter at all about all the fun things the interwebs is trying to trick you with.  Heck, it was 4:00 pm when I finally looked at my watch yesterday and realized that it was the 1st.  So here are three bacon (and nerd) related April Fool’s Day pranks that I found “amusing”.

First, this one was emailed to me in advance from Green Works. I have to admire the production value here.  The rep who sent me the note said she’d send some product coupons, but I’ve never received a reply from my email…

Now, ThinkGeek has found a way to bring these wonderful fakes to market (Tauntaun Sleeping Bag, My First Bacon), but somehow I just don’t think LucasFilm is going to go for this one (but if they do – count me in!).

Yeah, I don’t know how I feel about this. Not diggin’ the costume, Dennis Leary as Capt. Stacey? Lizard looks kinda cheesy (and the photos I’ve seen from early merchandise doesn’t help boost my confidence around him either). On the other hand, every shot I’ve seen of Spidey flying through New York has been pretty impressive. Man, I just don’t know…my nerd senses are tinglin’.

Lil’ Baird and I will be making some cookies for Santa this week along with a gingerbread house or too…so I thought I’d pop on the internets for inspiration.  I don’t think we are quite ready to tackle these yet, but I thought I’d share anyway.  Nerds, gotta love us!

I’ve watched this about 20 times already.  Stark and Cap, Stark and Banner, Hawkeye snapping his bow, Fury…I so much want the Avengers to rock!!  (Ed. Note – Sick all week at home so I finally got to see Thor, thought it was really good.)

I know this has been all over the interwebs already, but it just makes me smile. I remember when I first saw Empire and what a big moment the reveal was…I hope that when Lil’ and I finally watch these movies together that she has that same reaction.

It was their daily deal for just 10 bones.  I was totally going to get it but I was a day late to the party.  Luckily I clicked the link and it took me to RedBubble where the shirt was on sale there!  YEAH! (but the price was now $23.94, BOO!)

I hadn’t been on the RedBubble for a while so I thought I’d look around a bit…drop “bacon” in the search…

..and I got mine!!!!!

When I arrived home last night, I noticed the welcome mat on my front porch was leaning up over something.  I just assumed that my bi-weekly comic book order had arrived as this was the normal way the UPS guys leaves my packages.  I was half right, my books were delivered but also to my surprise I noticed a much larger box sitting with them.  The box was from ThinkGeek.

Oh boy…it was finally here!
