Milestone #3…Legitimacy!?!
Hello again to all FoTDB! (Friends of The Daily Bacon)!
We are officially finished with month #4 in this little bloggin’ experiment. This last week, we hit what I consider to be another Milestone – two websites linked directly back to TDB!!! Thank you to Skulls & Bacon and Bacon Haiku for stopping by. I am glad you could find something interesting here and appreciate the link back! As a show of my gratitude, you have been added to “Brothers in Bacon”.
In the last month, we also almost DOUBLED page views compared to the first three months combined! TDB is coming up on 4,000 and it means so much to me that the 10′s of you continue to stop by! Tell your friends
AND…when you stop by, leave a comment, please! I’d love to hear from you!
Thank you!

Final Four Eve…
I know I told you yesterday I would tell you about the resort I went to this week…but that is being put on hold.
Why? Because I’m as excited as a kid on Christmas Eve. The Final Four begins tomorrow in downtown Detroit and I CAN NOT WAIT!!!

It has been so hard to focus today. My MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS open things up with UCONN tomorrow at 6:07 pm. We had almost 30,000 people at Ford Field today just to watch the Spartan’s open practice. The town is truly abuzz…I love it when it is like this around here. Super Bowl XL was big, the MLB All-Star Game was big…but this…because MSU is in it…it just feels HUGE!
I am hearing from so many friends who are coming into town for this. Earilier this week, I even held a Facebook Fundraiser for my buddy Sam Singh (SHOUT OUT) to fly him back from Kenya (his latest stop on his trip around the world, check out his blog) to get here for the Final Four! I am happy to say we raised the money and I am picking him up tomorrow and headin’ straight to the “D”. It is going to be an absolute blast!! Old friends, our school playing for a championship and a bunch of adult beverages – GOOD TIMES!
Due to everything going on, I will not have a post tomorrow. You can follow me on Twitter or through the Twitter update on the right side of this blog. Just a heads up, most tweets will probably read like this:
“WHOOOOOOOO”
“Whiskey, Whiskey, Whiskey”
“Look who passed out”
“Your Mom”
“Why did I drink that?”
So enjoy!Â
GO GREEN! GO WHITE!!

Milestone #2
Hello my FoTDB! (Friends of The Daily Bacon)!
Today marked Milestone #2 for this little slice on the interwebs – 2,000 page views!
I am flattered that you folks stop by and I hope you take a little enjoyment from my ramblings. Knowing that the 10′s of you keep coming back is my motivation to keep posting something fresh everyday! It’s been very enjoyable so far and I look to sharing more down the road!
Thank you!
(Yes, there is a gratuitous amount of “!” in the above post. But it’s only to show my excitement and appreciation!
)
I also just noticed that THIS post is itself a Milestone – POST #100!! YEAH!!!

Memorial for Siren Baird
Today we lost our “puppy”. By “puppy” I mean 8.5 year old Great Dane. She was a beautiful dog, incredibly friendly and docile. I didn’t want her at first, but I gave in to Better Half’s pleas. She tore up our floor, got hair everywhere, always had terrible breath and made a much better door than a window. She also waited for us to get home in the front window, would nuzzle and lean up against you and NEVER acted up or raised a bark! She was protective of her “sister” Lil’ Baird and of her “mom” when she was pregnant. She loved popcorn and Greenies. She crossed her paws in front of her when she laid down, looking quite content with herself. She would run in her sleep and get a “Billy Idol” lip that always made me smile.
She had a good day today, sunning herself on the back porch and laying by her “mom’s” feet. The doctor was kind enough to come to our house and with a simple shot, she passed peacefully and quietly with the two people who had cared for her unconditionally stroking her head the entire time.

She was a good dog and I loved her and now I miss her!

I’m just not happy with how the blogs been looking lately, so I’ve gone back to basics while I work on finding / designing a new look.
Thanks for your patience while I play. Suggestions, help…always welcome.

WHAT IS GOING ON????
No worries…last night I finally was able to install wordpress to my domain. I was using wordpress.com and redirecting the blog to thedailybacon.com. Now, through wordpress.org, the program now sits directly on my domain! YEAH!
This will allow me to play with the CSS to create my own design and hopefully open up a lot more widgets to play with.
Anyone a wordpresser who can provide some tips…I’d love to hear what you have to say!

Rough Day…
The Black Plague that has been hovering over our house got to much for Lil’ Baird last night. I got a call as I was leaving work to go straight to the emergency room at Beaumont in Royal Oak. Seems Lil’ Baird’s breathing got quite shallow and she was trying to gulp air.
We were lucky that our peds dr. called us in to the hospital because we got right in to the ER. Had to run through her first x-rays and two different breathing treatments before they decided, after 4 hours, to admit her.
Sleeping in a peds ward with your wife on a fold out twin bed, in a shared room with another poor little kid who was screaming all night, with your 3.5 month old all corded up and sucking oxygen…not the best way to spend an evening.
The good news is that Lil’ Baird was taken off O2 this morning, her pulse-ox levels were solid and she was discharged just as daddy got back to the hospital this evening.
She’s home, bathed, feed and sleeping…I am now hoping to do the same.
Good nite!
