Great article in the LA Times yesterday surrounding how a Twitter trend is born, in particular how #replacebooktitleswithbacon took off in the matter of just 24 hours.

I popped on the twit machine this afternoon as I was writing this post and I can tell you, #replacebooktitleswithbacon is still burning it up with over 100 new tweets in just three minutes (after 100 I stopped counting).
