The Legendary Kentucky Hot Brown!
I didn’t get to see much of the great city of Louisville this week. Our hotel is just a few miles away from the Expo Center south of the city so it’s just been back and forth along 264 for us. There was one thing however that I was FINALLY able to try and will be the memory of this trip for me…the Kentucky Hot Brown.
This is truly magnificent! It is essentially an open faced sandwich on steroids.
I first heard of this while watching “Throwdown with Bobby Flay” and I’ve been just waiting for my chance to try one.
We are talkin’ about a thick slice of toasted bread topped with sliced turkey, tomato, cheese and bacon then baked. Mashed potatoes are also involved and some are served in the sandwich or on the side. Oh, and gravy…good thick white gravy!
I can not begin to describe this thing. It tasted sooo good!!! I was so hungry and it was so tasty that it was gone, GONE in five minutes. Clean plate club member right here!!
Please make it a point, when in Kentucky, to try this sandwich. I promise you will be you will be happy and full!
