Literally JUST saw this spot while watching the Tigers game…

“…it’s, it’s intoxicating.”

Not the most clever ad in the word, but the blonde’s delivery when asking if the red head if she smells bacon was pretty good, so was the doufus troupe of guys.

Still not as good as one of my favorite ads of all time…it’s the same basic premise, just I believe this one was executed perfectly.

I’ve had a lot of friends email me last week with news of Zingerman’s Camp Bacon held on June 19th and 20th in Ann Arbor.

I knew of the event, even tried to drop a few hints that it would make a great Father’s Day gift. but alas I did not attend.  It wasn’t cheap either…$150 ticket!

But after reading this account in the “Washington Post” and then watching this video…

well you can bet whatever the cost next year I WILL be making the trip!

Ladies and gentlemen, what very well may be the BEST comic adaption ever captured on film.

This is the International trailer and I defy you, nerd and non-nerd, not to crack a smile even once while watching this.

Since Lil’ Baird popped into my life, I have only seen four (yes that is 1, 2, 3, 4) movies in a theater.  This will be number five.

Sittin’ here just tryin’ to relax, watchin’ “The Soup“, and it hits me…I didn’t get anything posted today.

So I jump on and then noticed I didn’t have anything posted yesterday either.  Seriously, what’s going on Baird?

Well, it’s been quite a week and over these last two days it just seems like I haven’t been able to catch my breath. I’ll make it up to you though next week…lot’s to catch up with including “TOP CHEF” HAS RETURNED!!!! (bacon foam anyone?)

We’ll have a video funhouse tomorrow and then see you all on Monday.  Make it a great weekend!

Ode to bacon and how I love thee,

So inspired by the thrilling 1-1 draw against England today (first time I have ever watched an entire soccer match), I thought I would bust out two ads that I saw this last week from competing shoe manufacturers.

The first is just sheer brilliance. Nike, show us what ya got…

I loved when they did the similar “action” spots for the NFL last year but this…THIS…just completely blows everything away,  One of the best ads I have ever seen.

And now from Adidas (thx to FoTDB Mike D. for the link)

I mean come on, Snoop’s got a lightsaber!  The editing is pretty solid, almost seamless in some spots…but what it actually has to do with the World Cup???  That’s a good question.

They have another spot, “The Quest” or something like that, but it kinda sucks.

We talked two weeks ago about one Mr. Sean Fallon from the site Nerd Approved was attempting to home brew a fine stout of oatmeal, coffee and…

BACON!

He’s posted an update on the site today.  It was time to add the bacon to the brew.  I am intrigued by his method of infusion…with the bacon infused bourbon it was about the bacon fat that provided the flavor.  Here he’s cooked up a whole batch, popped it into a hops bag and immersed the meat in the brew.  Hmmmmm.

And again Sean…if you felt like throwin’ a bottle this way…I’d even spring for shipping
