You Got Some Bacon in my Brittle…
I think I found this year’s holiday gift for everyone…
Sir Francis Bacon Peanut Brittle…Brilliant!
Artisan smoked bacon, peanuts and lots of carmalized sugar. How could this be wrong? And if it is (all together) then I don’t want to be right.
COMING SOON - chocolate covered.
So I don’t know if I should wait for the choco-bacon brittle or commit now?!?
Decisions, decisions.
Interested in picking some up? They offer a 3 oz. / 3 box pack or a standard 8 oz. box. and you can order direct from their site.
Happy eatin’!

Bacon Boutique – Gusto’s Swag…
So this needs just a little set up.
A while back, I reviewed some Gusto’s bacon I picked up at Hiller’s Market. I had never heard of Gusto’s before and only found out about it when I was pulling my weekly “Goin’ to the Market” post.
It was a real pleasant surprise and some terrific packaged bacon.
Well, it seemed that my little post and the way I tagged it suddenly pushed my up to #1 in organic search when you would type “Gusto’s Bacon” in the google machine (right now I am 4th).
Anywho, a few weeks back I got a real nice comment on the site from Joe who worked at Gusto’s. He thanked me for my post and said he would like to send me a t-shirt and hat. COOL, my first swag courtesy of this little blog thingy.
So I replied to Joe’s email with my shirt size and about 2 weeks later, there was my package: [Read more →]

The Bacon Sandwich Equation…
So that’s it…
From “The Independent” out of Great Britain…
Experts at Leeds University spent more than 1,000 hours tasting 700 variations of the bacon sandwich to cook up a formula for the perfect butty. The secret lies in how crispy and crunchy your rashers are. Their recipe for success is N = C + {fb (cm) . fb (tc)} + fb (Ts) + fc . ta where N = force in Newtons required to break the cooked bacon, fb = function of the bacon type, fc = function of the condiment/filling effect, Ts = serving temperature, tc = cooking time, ta = time or duration of application of condiment or filling, cm = cooking method and C = Newtons required to break uncooked bacon.
Let me restate that for you:
N = C + {fb (cm) . fb (tc)} + fb (Ts) + fc . ta
When you put it like that, it ALL makes sense!

Hot Bacon for Chicken Wings…
With the wave of bacon products on the market today, it was only a matter of time…
Actually, it’s funny that it’s taken this long for someone to have the idea of marrying these two flavors.
I actually came across this product through a Facebook ad on my profile page…way to target those ad units to my “likes” Big Brother Zuckerburg. Your machine is working!
I visited the site baconhotsauce.com and can’t find what the actual ingredients are. After my experience with Bacon Salt, I am leery of food items that claim to be “Bacon-Flavored” as they probably don’t actually include any real bacon. Seeing this in their About Us section also cause me pause:
Bacon Hot Sauce has gone through many iterations and was developed in collaboration with a leading food scientist.
“Leading food scientist”, oh boy…
So you game? Care to try? Pick yourself up a 5 oz. bottle for $5.99 from their site.

Bacon Pic of the Day – Excuse Me Miss…
but I thought I ordered a SIDE of bacon?
Really? REALLY?? These barely fit on the saucer like plate that Lil’ Baird might eat off of.
It is too bad you blew it with the pork because your pancakes were tatsy. That said, as Paula Abdul once masterfully sung…”there too many fish in the sea”, so I’m not coming back here anymore restaurant that will go unnamed.
