I’ll have the Half Fat, Double Caff, Bacon Mochachino Please…
From Torani, makers of fine beverage syrups comes:
Yes, bacon flavored syrup. This isn’t a joke or delayed April Fools, this one is real.
From the Tonari web site:
Bacon enthusiasts will recognize the same savory, meaty flavor as authentic bacon in this salty, sweet syrup. Torani Bacon syrup adds savory bacon flavor to cocktails, lattes, sauces and more. Just add 1/2 – 1 oz. of syrup to a 6-8 oz. beverage, and enjoy this innovative new flavor from Torani.
Okay…maybe this bacon thing is going a little to far. This coming from the guy who bought the Bakon Vodka…
BUT, then I read one of the suggested drink recipes and now I’m thinking that I should give it the old college try.
Bacon Bourbon Sour
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 oz. Torani Bacon Syrup
- 1 oz. fresh lemon juice
- 2 oz. bourbon
- 3 inch bacon strip (garnish)
DIRECTIONS:
- Combine syrup, lemon juice and bourbon in a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake well and strain into an old-fashioned glass.
- Garnish by placing a small strip of cooked bacon across the rim of the glass.
Hmmmmm…intrigued (while still slightly disgusted)
Wanna pick up a bottle, head to their website. Only $6.95…so affordable enough to at least give it a shot.
